Frequently Asked Questions
Here are a few likely guest questions with clear, reassuring answers:
Are there bears in the area?
Yes, bears are native to the region, but sightings are rare. To avoid attracting wildlife:
Do not leave food or trash outside
Always lock cabin doors and windows
Dispose of all waste promptly in designated bins. We also include a short wildlife safety guide in your welcome kit.
Can I swim in the swimming hole?
Absolutely. It’s one of the most magical parts of the property—fed by spring water from the mountain, it stays around 50°F and is incredibly refreshing on warm days.
Is there cell service or Wi-Fi?
We offer strong, secure Wi-Fi in each cabin. Most carriers also have service, but Elka is designed to help you unplug when you choose to.
Is Elka family-friendly?
Yes, two of our cabins accommodate four guests comfortably, and kids love the trail network, fire pits, and creek. However, the property is best suited to children over 6 due to the natural terrain.
Are pets allowed?
We love animals, but we’re currently a pet-free property to preserve the native wildlife and ensure all guests—especially those with allergies—are comfortable.
How do I book a massage or guided hike?
You can add Elka+ experiences when you reserve your stay or anytime through our guest portal after booking.
Is there parking?
Yes, each cabin includes one dedicated parking spot. Additional spots are available on request.
